To give you guys a bit:
Things are rather looking up I can assure you, some major issues have been sorted out finally, as far as I can see.
I personally won't be able to work much on it until the end of this month, because of an exam I quickly slipped in, but afterward we will sit on a pile of progress and laugh.

Because Scarlet pm'ed me about it. Also, Szemi, I've told this to you almost repeatedly when you've asked me on MSN on a nearly weekly basis.

Anyway, I'll post progress because Nospike asked and I'm sure more than a few are curious.

Speaking for myself, I've been very unmotivated lately and haven't been working on the mod for a week or two. Mink and Tulip are also busy with other things. At the moment I'm letting things sit until I feel like modding again.

Levels are maybe half done but we're still missing some patches, making it difficult to gage gameplay and hard to stay motivated when levels can't be tested in a complete sense.

We've had a lot of song submissions, but won't be importing any until the levels are complete.

Additionally, the story and end story probably won't be completed until the game (the world map and the levels) can be played through properly.

I had a small request concerning songs for BITB. In Keens 4 and 6, the songs in the secret levels were also songs throughout the rest of the levels. However, in Keen 5, Korath III Base has its own song. I was hoping the secret level in BITB would have its only song as well.

We have almost enough song slots to have a special song for each level, so I guess it's most likely to happen

Keen 5 had a special song for the secret level. Keens 4 and 6 did not. I was hoping for a special song for the secret level in Keen 9. It is up to Ceilick, of course.

That's good to know. Keep up the good work team, that is when you can. I was wondering about progress for a while now (glad to have an update), but still waiting patiently for completion.

It will all come in good time. Overly excited!

Update: Currently 5 levels are fully completed and tested. Thats roughly one third of the levels. Another third of the levels are in various stages of completion. My hope is that they'll be done in the next week or so, and the remaining levels within the next three weeks.

The levels are the biggest thing right now, next is drawing the ending sequence (which can't happen until the final level's design is complete). Once the levels are completed we'll be importing songs, which mostly involves choosing which songs to include of the 40+ that have been submitted. Levellass will be creating most new sound effects and hopefully providing a few more patches to improve gameplay.

Finishing this is dependent on a few things that may take time, but we've really been hammering at it today and yesterday and hope to keep the pace up.

I'm glad to see that this mod is near completion. I have been very much looking forward to it for quite some time. It seems like your mods just keep getting better and better with each one.

I still plan on releasing my mod shortly after this title, since I decided to make it take place directly after yours, so that gives me plenty of time to get it finished, too.

I'm here if you need any grunt-work done as far as pixel art or music goes, although that's probably not very likely since you already have so many music submissions, and you're a much better artist than I am.

Really looking forward to this, and wish you luck. Happy

That reminds me, I forgot to suggest this earlier, but here goes. Have you come up with a final replacement for the slicestar yet? If you haven't, or are willing to change it, I had this idea a long time ago for a red laser beam (make the laser sprite match the Keen Galaxy perspective) that moves up and down, side to side along rails (you should propably use the same ones that Goblats use to avoid spending any more tilespace). Best option would be if the Slicestar could be patched to be un-killable, and transparent to Keen's shots (not a necessity, but in my opinion a laser beam shouldn't absorb the stunner shots).

Also I didn't PM this as you or someone else might be inspired by such idea.
