I have decided to make Commander Keen a FBI agent in the year 2000. I am currently working on the Wolfenstein Alternate Reality Game and Election 2000 The Game. The Wolfenstein ARG is a prequel to the mod that I created called Wolfenstein Endgame. The Wolfenstein ARG is also a prequel to the mod that I created called Amazing Grace. I will post the links to the ARG and Election 2000 The Game later. I have 36 days to cover in Election 2000 The Game. Election 2000 The Game deals with an FBI agent named John, William Joseph, and FBI agent William Joseph II going up against a criminal organization called the Triad. I am calling it Election 2000 The Game because it takes place on the 2000 election. The Triad is a group of Nazis and Neo Nazis. In Election 2000 The Game, the player plays as John.

The basic translation is this, Commander Keen is an FBI agent in the year 2000 now using the name William Joseph Blazkowitz II and not Commander Keen. Wolfenstein Endgame is a Wolfenstein 3D mod. Amazing Grace is a Spear of Destiny mod. Edit. I did a search. According to the internet, A person who is 18 cannot be an FBI agent. Darn it. What year does Commander Keen 1 take place in? 1990?

yep 1990. What is the lower age limit for agents? Not that it would matter for Commander Keen.

Do we know for sure it happened in 1990? Besides assuming that the game took place in the present day. It at least had to happen after both viking landers went on mars (1975) (as VBB pointed out a while back about there being 2 landers). But other than that, culturally, I think the game could've taken place just as much in 80's. Especially since 1990 was much pretty a transition year between the previous decade and the 90's.

I'm not sure if this is that important, and if this gets derailed too far, I will move this topic to a new thread.

I recall implications that the story of Keen takes place during the time the games were released, but they are vague memories. I may be misremembering things like "next game coming 1992" as "Keen's next adventure will take place in 1992".

Anyone got quick access to all the story screens (or just the text) so I could check?

Edit: also, Keen is a very "put yourself in the main character's place, YOU are Billy Blaze and this is happening NOW" kind of game, so the line between "time of the next game, real world" and "time of Keen's next big adventure, in-story" may well be intentionally blurred.

I like to think that all seven episodes occured in December of 1990. There was that snow day at the end of Keen 2, and The Universe Is Toast was promised to come out near Christmas, and all the games were actually released near the end of the year IRL.
