It damn right as grim as it seems. Here's a billionaire's statement...

"It's class warfare, my class is winning"
That's what Buffett said.

Remember when the last big crisis hit in the late 1920s? Well I don't either, but look into what happened. There was not much money or anything. So how did Roosevelt get money? Well, he was under pressure of the unions/comimes/socialists... they were a serious threat. So, he managed to appease some of them, to calm them down. He went to the rich and basically said "yo guys we own the pie but if we do not share it with the masses we'll not have any bit of it left". He basically said lets give them a part, and resume sharing the rest of the big pie amongst ourselves. And roughly half of the uber rich agreed, and so problem solved. From that we got employment, and other stuff, such as social security. Note the naming, it was "social security", so prevent social unrest.

After ww2 the other half of the uber rich did what they could to take back all those gains that the general population got. Lets remember what happened... everyone making above a certain amount of money got taxed over 90%. That's significant. That amount is like 30ish% today? At any rate, starting in the 1970s the paranoia about tax cuts started going full steam. the following programs that both democrats and republicans carried out, about lowering tax, with their myth "benefits trickle down" has been one of the greatest swindles in history. Americans are now paying the price, and like bafoons many blame it on "big government!" The libertarians are the worst in this regard, as they basically want to eliminate tax.

Sorry in advance for waiting a month and a half to comment on this, but some bad things happened in real life that kept me away from the net for a while. :/

It's pretty unfair to just paint all Libertarians as reactionary anti-tax maniacs, and that seems to be more of a Tea Party thing (which is a safety net to keep Republicans who are unhappy with the GOP from actually leaving). In other words, you're basically blaming the Libertarians for things that the GOP does, which, as I said above, is totally unfair.

Primarily, when Libertarians talk about Big Government, they're thinking of three things: Wars, Depletion of Personal Freedoms by Law Enforcement (usually drugs), and Government Waste (taxes are part of this). These are all legitimate issues, and unfortunately the GOP has become a party that helps to make these three problems worse, while simultaneously complaining about them when blame can be passed to the Democrats. Thus, you should really be blaming Republicans, the "conservatives" who really don't stand for anything conservative anymore.

*And now Israel blows up civilians again....

I can recommend listening to Noam Chomsky speaking on Israel - good stuff. I scored one of the free tickets to his Melbourne talk last year, and he seems to be extra strong on making his points on Israel these days.

Did anyone say cultural and physical genocide?

I'm impressed! I wonder how low the security was on those servers.

Probably quite high with people being people as usual. (I'm sure I can use my home USB here. Eh, I'm sure a 6 letter password is enough. Ooh, free porn!)

So the Anonymous justifies the close-to-a-thousand rockets that were shot to Israel from Gaza?

Too bad there's no non-Israeli source for these reports, though.

Yeah. Destroy one country's infrastructure and only a handful of journalists can get behind the lines. Especially when the big name news organisations are often based in pro-Israel countries.

Even Aljazeera seemed to be slightly pro-Israel in places earlier, but they did much better than most.

Having destroyed all major military targets, Israel is moving on to bombing the media. How long do you think until they start bombing hospitals? They're already bombing fuel supplies.

You can never avoid bombing hospitals in a war like this. (I mean heck, look at WWII) When you don't have two big armies blast each other in a special arena things get messy fast.

Anyone with any sense will hide where there is the most innocents, in the hope they won't be suspected and/or bombed there. It's also beneficial for your enemy to be painted as evil bastards, moreso if they're doing stuff, accidentally or deliberately to garnish that reputation.

And the only way to win a war is to kill all your opponents. It's why we're not likely to properly win any wars anytime soon, we don't have the guts for total slaughter anymore.

The "terrorist" cell in Gaza is tiny compared to Israel's army, which might be the 10th largest in the world.
