Keen 3: Soooooo Hostile Vorticons!

Post by Nospike »

I'm working on a levelpack for Keen 3. Absolutely no graphics will change (maybe just the titlescreen and stuff like that) Everything I need is one patch - to finish the game when all the levels are complete.
I'll keep updating. :)

The patch can be found on the Keen Wiki, here, in case you haven't found it already.

No Spleen, no it can't.

Thanks for the offer, I'll do it myself. :)
Here's some info I forgot to post.
The levels are not über-hard. The first level is a bit easier than the normal one. :foot

We haven't had some easier levels in a while, and since my keening skills are winding down over time it seems I'll appreciate that.

The second level is done!
It's a vertical one. It was meant to be an easy one, however, it turned out to be hard. On my third attempt, I got too many "OMFG! THAT WAS SOOOO CLOSE! IF THIS HAPPENS AGAIN, I'M NOT PLAYIN' ANYMORE!" feelings. My hands are still shaking. :foot

I've decided to share the two-level demo with you, PCKF! :)
GET EET NOW!
It's the two levels on the island where you start. The rest of the game is left untouched. You need a Keen 3 .exe in order to play, of course.

WARNING: You have to make a folder and extract the archive in the folder, unless you want to make a mess on your desktop. :o

I played your first two levels.
They are great! Really!
That is exactly my expectation of difficulty in Keen 1-3. It was fun playing the first levels.
The level design is well done, too. Not confusing, very good placement of objects, nice landscape and good use of the different backgrounds. It felt very keenish!
Kepp up the great work!

Nice levels! I feel that they are excessively large at some areas, though. For example that starting paint, the cave part, of the second level feels very empty.

P.S. Keen's shirt is purple, not pink :x

Someone thinks it's purple and someone thinks it's pink. OK, I'll change it.
If you examine teh cave area really carefully, you'll find something very valuable. :) That's why it's so large.
