Keen's slot machine

Post by VikingBoyBilly »

There's absolutely no skill involved and the gameplay amounts to mashing the clicker repeatedly, but I'm utterly addicted just to see all the things keen says. Sometimes you can get a double win by aligning the same thing horizontally and diagonally. I haven't ever gotten a vorticon doll or lost yet, so when someone gets the vorticon dolls please tell me what he says :begging

lawl

my favs: (spoiler alert)

"Don't be a foob"

"Pull lever for Deathray"

"Great! Oh my mistake"

"Oh, no chocolate cake?" (that's a win oddly enough)

"Maybe a dead battery"

"this isn't neat"

"nicely randomized" (and americanizzzzzzed too it seems)

"(sings) I want candy!"

"Ooh look at 'em go!"

and Keen was nasty to me: "(just smirks at you)"

"this beats paddle war" - no it doesn't! It's good but not a win in that competition!

oh, and you can get a triple win too it seems!: :D

I'VE WON ALL BAR THAT TEDDY TOO! I was ONE OFF just before! Are the points the odds too perchance? :P

who made this btw?

Oh, and did I see "be a bounder?" these are some good insults :P

Nothing happened.

EDIT: wait, Chromium just blocked a popup. Why is this game in a pop-up window? :confused
EDIT 2: nice, I guess. Could have used some better usage of JS (I recommend you check out jQuery) and CSS (stuff misaligns really easily).

I got the Vorticon doll, too. He said something like "These are expensive."
There seems to be a lot of messages in this game.

"Incredible, 2 prices!"
"(just smirks at you)"
"Dopefish' favorite"

and

"Fucl!" :lol

Also, I lost the game. Got a "Game Over" message and "Bankrupt" on the bottom.

New Commander Keen Game
Sander » 12-Jan-2002

We haven't wished you a happy new year yet, have we? Well then A happy new year to you all! Only 353 more days to go.

We haven't been sitting still here either, we've created our very first on-line game! It's called Keen's Slot Machine. It basically is what it sounds like: a slot machine game with Commander Keen treasures from all episodes, and Commander Keen himself comments on your progress with over 100 'clever' remarks. Oh and since we're from Europe the active currency in the game is the euro (€).

The game comes in two sizes. A small one that loads in the space normally occupied by . And because this is probably too small for people with high resolution monitors there is also a larger one that opens in a separate window.
The small one: Keen's Slot Machine.
The larger one: Keen's Slot Machine XL.

Hope you like it!

It was more of a comment directed to DaVince about technical stuff.
In 2002 everybody was using Internet Explorer 6 and Firefox didn't exist yet. jQuery was released for the first time 4 years later in 2006. And pop-up windows were still common, because IE 6 didn't block them.
