Approximately 2 years ago, I started to create a "Commander Keen Orchestra Medley", but I got tired of doing it so never finished it. I have no intention of doing so either, so I thought I'd upload it for the community.

http://files.commanderkeen.org/users/zidanea/Keen%20Orchestra.mp3

Could someone please upload this on the KeenWiki? Some kind of glitch prevents me from doing it..

Awesome, too bad it wasn't finished. Sad But then again, making music can definitely be a pain.

You have the MIDI or Finale .MUS file you were working with? :) I'd like to see the score.

Edit: Aww, you said "Orchestrated," and I thought you meant "Violins, Violas, Trumpets, Trombones, and Timpani." :(

Thank you everyone! Happy

XkyRauh: There are both violins, violas, trumpets and trombones in there. Not any timpanis though. (as I said, it's unfinished so not all instruments are there)

kinda like the entire game's soundtrack in one song, like the world of mother song in the EarthBound soundtrack (or was that something unofficial by someone else? I dont know)

There's some really neat stuff in there.
Great beginning. Really neat lead-in to that first haunting melody, which is itself a great lead-in to the more upbeat tunes that follow it.
There should be a chord change at 0:23, and more chord changes until 0:43 than there are currently, IMO, to give it a bit more motion.
0:45-1:07 is neat, but sounds a little spare - I'm guessing you were planning to fill out the lower voices a bit.
1:08-1:36 is my favourite part. Love the background texture you have there, as well as the transferring of the melody to the strings @ 1:20, and the key change @ 1:32.
1:37 is a bit too sudden of a change for my taste - I would've kept some elements from the previous section (adapting them to new roles), especially as it was working so well.
As it is, I find 1:37-1:46 a bit boring.
The melody that comes in @ 1:47 isn't quite faithful rhythmically to the original Keen melody.

I second the request for MIDI or MUS or BAK files, if you have them. It would be neat for someone to build on this if you're abandoning it.

Which program(s) did you use to make this?

Snortimer: I used FL Studio with the plugin Edirol Orchestra.

If you guys want it, I can upload the project file (.flp) on the CKFS.
BTW: When I created this, I was still pretty noobish so everything is kind of messy, which makes it hard to continue on this project.

Nope, silly me! It was by someone else, with the same filename and very similar tune. The instruments are all different though and it's 34 seconds longer.
