Loyalty programs work if you use them frequently, today on the way home, I had a craving for a mocha, discovered that I had 2 loyalty coffees to use at McDonalds so therefore I used one and saved myself A$5 for something I normally would have paid for

Wow, it costs more to get one from McDonald's than from a somewhat trendy café?

KP The most expensive mocha I have paid for at a McDonalds in Australia was in the Perth CBD, Then I paid A$5.65, but at 3 outlets in Geelong, The Large size was just under $5

Oh and another thing I paid about 2-3 GBP for a large mocha at a trendy cafe somewhere in Scotland (sorry i don't remember where) when I visited a few years back, which works out to be 3.29-4.93 AUD

And a word of advice if you're visiting Scotland don't buy takeaway coffee from the cheapest cafe, it will most likely take too long to make and it will not taste fresh, I fell for this once and it was not even barista made, the business basically just took milk warmed it at in the microwave added instant coffee and then the cocoa and charged the cheapest price in GBP as possible, my advice is to stick with Starbucks whilst in Scotland wherever they can be found, I came across one in Edinburgh and even though I paid 8 GBP = 13.16 AUD for a large mocha and a muffin, at least the coffee was made fresh, I went through caffeine withdrawal whilst I was over there as the Coffee Culture in the UK is virtually non-existent, there is a huge presence of it here in Geelong, almost every where you go there is a cafe on nearly each corner in the CBD, and plus in Supermarkets all across Australia not only can you buy instant ground coffee, you can also buy coffee flavored milk (my poison), this is the perfect treat on a warm summers day, and believe me the Australian Summer is long and extremely hot, in Scotland they were kicking up a fuss about 24C, that's nothing compared to above 38C, perhaps the Scots need to experience an Australian Summer or at least both the dry and wet seasons up in the Northern Territory?

Nah, I kid. It's just, as a most-of-my-lifetime Colorado resident before packing up and shipping out to farm country, I make fun of Boulder all the time.
